It’s all happening!! The album received this wonderful 4 star review by John Shand in the Sydney Morning Herald today. We’re honoured to have been reviewed alongside great established talents St Vincent and John Butler.
Also, we’ve got a Jazzgroove gig coming up very soon. This one will feature a bunch of originals, some of which are brand new! Hope you can come along.

Our next gig will be at the brand new Sydney venue Foundry616! It’ll be a Cap’n K gig with a difference, with not one but TWO special guests! Along with heroic regulars Ellen, Glenn and Tom, we’ll be joined by sax extraordinaire Matt Ottignon and another Jann Rutherford Memorial Award winner, Ali Foster on drums! Capn K at Kinetic Jazz Festival 26th March!

Where? – St Luke’s Anglican Church Hall, Stanmore Rd Enmore
When? – 26th May, 6-8pm
How much? – $20 or $15 concession
Can under 18s come? – Yes!
The Kinetic Jazz Festival starts this Wednesday, May 22nd. Have a look at their website for more details about the other bands.

Captain Kirkwood’s new album “Theseus and the Minotaur” will be launched at Jazzgroove on Tuesday, 30th April. It features the 5 part “Theseus and the Minotaur” suite – a narrated “music story” based on the Greek myth, plus 3 other original tracks by bandleader Ellen Kirkwood.
